We sat down a bit after 7:30 with our kids for Tartiflette.
Tartiflette is a traditional hearty Alpine meal from the Haute-Savoie region (north of us - up towards Switzerland, by Annecy etc.)
Boil about a kilo and a half of potatoes then sauté an onion in a bit of oil. Layer it twice in a gratin dish, add a bit of cream, a glass of a dry white wine, and an entire wheel of Reblochon cheese sliced lengthwise in half and placed on the top and bake at 250'.
Glorious.
The five of us made a pretty good dent in it.
I think I can agree with the sentiment expressed by this:
I guess it was so good you didn't even have enough to bring down! :-) I bet if a certain husband was "babysitting" his kids for his wife you would have saved him some! Haha! Looks "lovely"! Can't wait to make it!
